We watched as the swamp started to bubble And the reeds shook in the growing wind When the water rose up from the floorboards It was clear there was one who would win Oh hail the frogs in their wisdom Oh hear the might of their song Oh they had us to build up their kingdom Did they know what would come all along?

Someday I want another weekend, baby Where I Can go into a deep dive poolside Swim through clearing waters, always Make it look so easy Savage They say it as I grab it harder Pulling For what I know is in there somewhere See the shell is cracking, somehow Make it look so easy. I want another Flashy body wise in eye: a dragon with a good sound I want another Tapestry woven silk and hung with all the fine beads I want another so I Run to the top, run to the top, run on the surface of the water Can I catch the thread? Touched by Another tongue of fire, passing Lost in The thought of burning on that big stage Wonder if the writing’s got it Made it look so easy. I want another Fancy drink and sparkling and laughing at the right parts I want another Stranger nodding to the beat and dancing with her nice friend I want another so I Run to the top, run to the top, run on the surface of the water Did I catch the thread?

Green Apple 05:19
In the greenest ocean I find myself swimming As my head goes under I recall Emerald waves wash years of built up armor off me Hardened shell of soft nights in the fall Smoke arises from the core Don't quite know what we are drinking for Thick segmented insects climb through the floor Overwhelming feeling steals my air right from me Manually moving leaves me sore Sinking in the water now, is it relaxing? Trying to get back from the before Working just like you knew I could Ink and paper nails and wood Smashed up windows let the sweet breeze in for good What's at the core of you? What's at the core of me? Do we start out the same? Did we grow differently? Fruit rotting in its leaves Falls to earth, ready for anything Even in my dreams they live as I remember Never have they let me just forget. Washing all my dusty corners with seawater Finally cleared some space for my regret What's at the core of you? What's at the core of me? Do we start out the same? Did we grow differently? Seeds stretch their arms to me Growing skin, bark of the apple tree

In the dark I reach suddenly Ready for crystal stringing in the dark I write Flocking birds, a murder of progression Reminds me of the things I never meant to do How many ways has this already happened? Your voice might be a prism spinning rainbows wallside Or it could list what I fail to be She won't look me in the eye Even in my dreams, why? Melancholy rolling deep And sweetly in the sheets Untrained revisions echo off my bent ribcage too often or maybe not often enough Planar shame makes me feel briefly like a human Is it real? If it's not quite there If it's staring iridescently at woodgrains groaning If you can tap your fingers to it If it looks angry and sad and wishes it were somewhere where the days don't repeat In the dark I reach suddenly

The Tower 03:57
In a dreamy room, in a sea of familiar faces, I see him standing: / familiar face Don't think he'll come over if I don't let him know I'm looking, so I don't. Turn back to the table to allow the investigation to continue / Oracle ways She puts all the cards down in a line, side by side, then turns them upwards / Showing their face One by one their upturned mouths align to tell me all about my future: The breakneck speed at which I live my life will only break my neck someday Time has elapsed now. As the party's winding down, I suddenly see him / facing away Laughing with a woman who has captured his attention with her dry humor / and beautiful face In a moment they will leave but I won't see them go, and I won't miss them / Sounds easy to say I know what I want though, and no part of it is with them. I want something / Nobody can take One by one I pick out all the signs They don't differ in their warning The breakneck speed at which we live our lives will only break our necks someday One by one we sink into decline All together as we're falling: The breakneck speed at which we lived our lives Only breaks our necks

Been a while since you pretended to be Someone else to get inside my head Every time you do, it makes me wonder Why you think we'd still make such good friends What are all those shapes that walk behind you? They sit and stare into your heart. I Think they’re friends of things that know your father I think they see him written on your arms No surprise you feel like you're a new link in the chain Of brutal human ways we can’t escape I won’t tell you that’s not how it works here It’s not on me to try to explain Are you waiting for the feeling right to try the hard way? Do you hope you’re gonna be okay? It can look like cliffs but if you hold your head the right way it’s the bridge You were in a dream I had last Friday But your dream self was no-one I knew By your laugh, you'd been on that great journey You'd felt all the love we have for you.

Se Danse 02:11
Sit and see Sit and see A-yah Sit and see Thunder on the mountaintop Sit and see She is sweetly running up Don't wait for me Sit and see Washing in the font of spells Sit and see Floating, never sinking in Think like the leaf Sit and see Sit and see A-yah Simmering thickly, brew it and do not spill I don't like it when you won't stop pushing it I don't like that opinion it is a thought And there's no room for any of that noise in here Several times you push it back push it back So I drop what I'm doing and just give in Dancing to no tune in no place where nothing is Nothing takes my hand and guides me Sit and see Sit and see A-yah

Smoke slips out your throat and tightens up your yellow teeth Shake it off, slow it brews up in you Going to seek out the beast when you're trained means you cannot lose Shake it off, you won't let it get through Follow in a canyon made of the tread left behind in the dark Step it up, watch your feet twist under Hottest part of the sun grinds away at the skin on your neck Step it up, hope the sky heads in soon Dream of the glory of taking the hundred and twenty eyes Think you've got all that you need? If you watch for claws if you dodge the bite If you don't get hit you could win the fight Wake up as the moon falls so you can head west where the mountains broke See it through, wise minds would turn backwards Hike to the ledge where the witch said look north for the hidden stair See it through, deep steps then you see me Look into any of my one hundred and twenty eyes No one warned you about this I can start my feast while I hypnotize Join the bones right there, I know they won't mind

When our lives on the mortal plane end, we rest between the hands of time: The left, pointing forward, and the right, pointing back, forever and for a moment. Every life that ever existed, sits, cupped in time's crossed palms. We mill together, mixing, sharing, overlapping. Impossible to distinguish and immediately distinct. Where a piece of spirit falls away from a whole, another is there to pick it up. When the hand puts us down again, mixed and changed, we become trapped like flies in amber. Frozen as a single being. So a woman was made flesh, and she came with a kingly gift. A frog who was herself, he reached, and shared with himself a vision. It stretched across their connection to share the wisdom of the palm. It knows that not only are we reborn, recycled, re-loved, we are each other and ourselves. Delight in what unites, but, my love, truly bask in your secrets. No-one ever walked this earth the way you do, my dear, and that's the point of it. Become yourself. It's enough. We take nothing else back with us when our time comes to an end. What will you share? This woman remembers the frog, and our time together in the palm, and she cannot wait to see you there too when the hand comes back to take us.

There are days where we can feel the touch of the crown But the last time that could happen, oh I was different then. Meeting you forever where the timeline snapped apart What’s different now? The weight of gold upon my head, pressed down. Do not be so tempted by the plush embrace. Break free Fire can teach you to heat, and iron shows you how to crack. When I rule, you won’t deny that the wooden heart beats strong I’ll be queen of mourning doves and clouds of memory. When my past lives join me right before I am somebody new I will feast with kings and queens of distant foreign lands. And for one particular frog, who came right before my little slice of time I will remove my crown, for it is his year, it is his year, it is this year he came to rule (Hail and all good fortune to the king of the frogs Traveled from afar to share the wealth of the frogs O! come one, come all, it is the year of the frog.)

about

A woman remembered the song a frog once taught her, while a man's fingers moved quickly to write its words. It sang of birthing, rising, falling, dying. Over and over, never ending and never having begun. The pattern of the frog's music was a blueprint, and so the pair of humans followed its design. Together they found the spool of shining thread, and together they wove it. They were delayed in their weaving by rising water, sticking mud, growth, death. Nothing could fully stop their creation, and finally it is complete. Their final product is a garment anyone can wear, but only they would have made.

In honor of the frog's selfless sharing of the pattern, we dedicate this album to the year we spent at the loom.
